When you are ready to accept our proposal (quote), which confirms your stone choice and profile edge – we require you to sign and returned the form paying 10% deposit to be paid before we order your stone. You may want to visit the supplier/importer and inspect the actual slab you will be receiving – recommended especially for natural stone slabs.

We will then do a site measure to ensure accuracy of measurements. All quotes include the cost of one on-site measure. Sometimes we may need to make a template which is an exact cutout pattern of your benchtop or vanity, etc. It takes a fair amount of time to make a template on site.

You will need to have your sink and hotplate on site to ensure the accuracy of the measurement for these cutouts. If you are having an undermount sink we will want to take it to fit at our factory.

As you can appreciate we have other customers who may have ordered before you. Your job will start as soon as possible – usually at least a 2 week turn around time – by the time we order the stone, get the stone slab/s delivered, measure at your address (if required), cut out the stone, mitre the edge to your chosen profile, polish the edges and schedule in the installation at a mutually convenient time.

In the meantime you will need to arrange a plumber for any sink works or gas work, an electrician for powerpoints & stove/oven. And, if renovating an old kitchen, you will need to have any existing benchtops removed prior our installation. We can arrange these services for you for an additional charge.

You must appreciate stone benchtops are EXTREMELY heavy. You will need to ensure that we have the best access possible into where the benchtop is to be installed. To avoid extra charges you will need to have your drop-in sink and hotplates are on site as these need to be glued into place.

NOTE: Please don’t ask us to take off our boots. It is a Workplace Health and Safety rule that we have our safety boots on. The stone is heavy as are our tools. We do our utmost to protect your flooring but if you are concerned then you will need to arrange extra coverings on the floors to protect them but ensure that there is no way we can trip on any floor covering when we are carrying in the very heavy stone.

The benchtops are glued together and you must understand that they take 24 hours to set completely. You must ensure no-one uses the benchtop, sits or stands on the benchtop/s and ensure other tradesmen are aware of this also so they don’t put tools on the benchtops until the following day.
